Jim the Are-Teeest's Interests
General
Art. Or art. Or more art. I'm a big fan of artists and their work. I'm very interested in my kids and am quite captivated by my wife. I would love more than anything to see a rematch of the 1980 World Series with the Phillies and the Royals. Music is very important to me - it provides entertainment, inspiration, and distraction. I also enjoy enjoying Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat Beer. Just saying...
Music
Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are the greatest band of our time. I am also interested in Jeff Black , The Avett Brothers, Big Smith and all of the members' solo endeavors, Young Dubliners, BR549, Reverend Horton Heat, Butch Walker, Marvelous 3, Todd Rundgren, New Grass Revival, John Cowan (the greatest vocalist ever!), Sam Bush, Chris Whitley, Rob Zombie, 80s hairbands (any music made by men in women's makeup, spandex and hairspray is pretty damned good!), Dokken, KISS, Motley Crue, Spinal Tap, Shawn Mullins, Bill Monroe, Asleep at the Wheel, The Silvermen, Gin Blossoms, Buckcherry, Nirvana, and so on...
Movies
Star Wars Episode 4: A New Hope, and all of the other SW movies, The Matrix, as well as the sequels, Napoleon Dynamite, Pulp Fiction, Smokey and the Bandit, Midnight Run, This is Spinal Tap, Dumb and Dumber, Bourne Identity, Bourne Supremecy, the Spiderman movies, the Shrek movies, the Harry Potter movies, really bad B-horror movies, Attack of the Killer Tomatoes, The Brain (!), Frankenstein (the original with Boris Karloff), and so on...
Television
I really watch very little TV - baseball, Countdown with Keith Olbermann, Family Guy, Reno 911!, Miami Ink, Criss Angel Mindfreak, programs on art or history (I'm a complete geek for Ancient Egypt). Plus the classics: Twilight Zone, The Andy Griffith Show, and The Dick van Dyke Show are the greatest TV shows ever made.
Books
I'm not a big reader, but I love books on Ancient Egypt. The Dirt by Motley Crue was my last read. The da Vinci Code was good, but I liked Angels & Demons better. Green Eggs and Ham is still a classic. In fact, about any kids' book is good for me - I love the illustration...and the reading level is about right for me.
